Coaching Q&A

Why the name enhance?

People generally have the resources they need, whether conscious or unconscious, to be successful or make a change. Coaching helps them find these resources by building on abilities and removing barriers. The essence of the word ‘enhance’ is to improve something that is already there.

How many sessions are required?

Everybody is different and all situations are different.  A coaching relationship can last as long as required.  Some people may just have 3-4 sessions to have support with a CV or interview. Some people will have a weekly session for a number of weeks and then reduce the frequency.  Some will have fortnightly sessions for a number of months and then stop.  Some will continue to have monthly or occasional sessions after their regular sessions to maintain achievements, and sustain progress and accountability.

Frequency is up to you and this is discussed on an ongoing basis to suit your evolving needs.

What makes a good coach?

A good creative coach will have developed their own style and have a coaching toolkit built on experience, in order to help anyone they meet. They will be a great listener, a quick thinker and be self aware at all times. They will not be afraid to be direct and will always reflect on their behaviour, strengths and development areas. All great coaches undoubtedly share one thing; a caring nature to support and develop other people.
